Betsey was born about 1809 in Nova Scotia. She and Ward raised six kids in Livingston, Washtenaw and Kalamazoo Counties. They spent their last years in Brady Township (Vicksburg). Ward committed suicide on 20 May 1868. Betsey died the following year of typhoid fever on 15 August 1869. Her headstone cites her date of death as Aug. 28, 1869, as does the Family Bible that was owned by her granddaughter. For the purpose of this memorial, I'm using the Aug 15th date which is what is recorded in official Michigan records.
