Alex Sorokin, 64, of Goshen, died at his home Sunday afternoon, June 29, 2014, after battling cancer for a year.
He was born July 6, 1949 in Munich, Germany to Ivan and Notburga (Porthorn) Sorokin.
On Feb. 18, 1972 he married Deborah Stacker in Elkhart.
She survives along with a son, Alan Sorokin, New Whiteland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Helmut "Jim" Sorokin.
He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1968. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkhart, and the National Rifle Association. He served with the U.S. Marines in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971.
