He was the son of Hagop (Jacob) Arslanian and Mariam Moutafian per his burial record, but his death certificate gives her first name as Agnazent (not exactly correct, the informant was his doctor so probably got the original Armenian name a bit wrong). Garabed worked as a shoemaker or tailor. He had lived with his brother Mardiros H. Arslanian at 38 N. 60th Street in Philadelphia in 1918. He moved to the Mont Alto State Sanatorium in Mt. Alto, Pennsylvania in February 1918 due to his pulmonary tuberculosis but died there of the disease that June at age 32.
