She was a native of Pekin, IN, and a member of Merry Makers Square Dance Club and Centenary United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice J. "Smitty" Schmidt.
She is survived by her nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
