Mr. Ottelien was born Nov. 20, 1896, at Reedsville, son of the late August and Emily Sorge Ottelien.
He married Marie Kubale June 29, 1921, at Reedsville.
A World War I veteran, Mr. Ottelien owned and operated Art's Shoe Store at Reedsville for 40 vears. was a substitute mail carrier tor 17 years and was also in the insurance business for a number of years. Mr. Ottelien was a member of the Holy Name Society of the church, the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and was a charter member of the American Legion Post 191 of Reedsville, the Reedsville-Wayside Sportsmen's Club and the Wayside - Morrison Concert Band.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert of Reedsville and James of Manitowoc; four sisters, Mrs. Emil Kraus, Mrs. Alma Krueger, Mrs. Jerry Hussey and Miss Viola Ottelien of Manitowoc; and three grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
