Gertruce Bennett, 85, of Chloe, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at her home. She was born in Rosedale, Braxton County, the daughter of the late George and Sophia Putnam Vanburen.
Surviving are two sons, Dean Bennett of Spencer and Aaron Bennett of Chloe; two daughters, Wilma McKee of Weston and Sandra Peake of Moncks Corner, S.C.; one brother, David Vanburen of Rosedale; three sisters, Audra Bourne of Minnora, Fanny Alkire of Butler, Pa., and Hallie Abersold of Fairmont; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Bennett, and one son, Arden Bennett. Services were held at Beech Grove Baptist Church, Nicut. Burial was in Mill Fork Cemetery, Rosedale.
