Harvey C. Leider, age 91, a Manitowoc resident, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

Harvey was born September 1, 1922 in the town of Liberty, son of the late Paul and Alma (Stein) Leider. He attended Liberty Bell School. On September 29, 1945 Harvey married the former Lorina Casper at St. Wendel Catholic Church, she preceded him in death January 23, 2014. Harvey was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran serving as an MP in Brazil from 1942-1945. He was employed at Kelvinator Commercial Products for 38 years, retiring in 1987. He also worked part-time at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry for 16 years. Harvey was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. He enjoyed spending 5 winters in Florida, 5 winters in Texas, and 15 years at White Potato Lake. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, sheepshead, and going out to eat.

Survivors include seven children: Gary Leider and special friend Deanne, Wautoma; Randy (Kathy) Leider, Fond du lac; Mary Jo (Martin) Waack, Manitowoc; Jane Schad and special friend Pat, St. Nazianz; Mark (Michelle) Leider, Manitowoc; Todd (Diane) Leider, Green Bay; Kevin (Sheila) Leider, Valders; twenty one grandchildren; David (Genny), Holly (David), Daniel (Cheryl), Michael (Kim), Marcy (Tim), Steven, Dawn (Gary), Heather (Tim), Bill (Kim), Lisa (Dan), Craig (Jeni), Pam (Tim), Curt (Rhonda), Dakota, Hunter, Derek (Sara), Adam (Meghan), Mason, Marina, Matthew (Jordan), and Mitchell (Andrea); thirty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 68 years, Lorina Leider; mother-in-law and father-in-law; Joseph (Jenny) Casper; and one brother, Harold.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Grand Site, 1416 Grand Ave. Rev. Bill Brunner will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial, entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum. Military services will be accorded by the VFW Otto Oas Post #659. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of mass at 11:00 am.
