Oscar homesteaded near Morristown, SD. He married Viola Beck Loper on August 31, 1912. The obituary from The Fort Scott Tribune indicate they had nine children: Sherman O. Swink, Floyd(Chuck) Swink, Lloyd(Moe) Swink, Roger J. Swink, Arthur Swink, Mae Swink Wolverton, Lois Swink Bruner, Phyllis Swink Hoffman, Ardell Boyce. The family lived in Morristown, South Dakota where Oscar raised cattle before moving from South Dakota to Uniontown, KS. They lived near Square Top, a one room grade school a few miles south of Uniontown. Oscar and his family moved to Lancaster, CA about 1940. He lived there until his death in 1983. Surviving children (2014) are Ardell Swink Bisher and Arthur Swink.
