John Lewis Jones, 80, of Bronston, Ky., and formerly of Lorain County, died Friday at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Ky.

Born in Kidder, Ky., he was a resident of the Lorain County area for many years before moving back to Kentucky. Mr. Jones retired from the Cleveland Quarry in Amherst. While in Ohio he was a member of the West Ridge Baptist Church in South Amherst.

Survivors include his wife of five years, Stella (nee Jones); sons, Lewis, Larry and William "Bill" Jones; daughters, Wand Phillips, Shirley Hembree and Kathy Williams; stepsons, Jess, Junior and Russell Gibson; stepdaughters, Rena Silvers and Sophia Gibson; a brother, Toney; and sisters, Imogene Walls, Mae Jones and Opal Crabtree.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Lela Helen Phillips Jones; a son, Roger in 1974; a daughter, Ina Louise Jones in 1999; parents, John Greene and Nola Jones; brothers, Hubert and Carl; and a sister, Lorraine Jones.
