Elbridge Yaste dies early Saturday morning
FRANKLIN – Elbridge Yaste, age 76, died Saturday morning in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Yaste had been ill since October.
He was born June 6, 1892 near Whiteland, the son of Leonard J. and Betty Carter Yaste. He was married to Myrtle Fraker, Sept. 21, 1917, and their golden wedding anniversary was commemorated by a trip to their daughter's home in Texas.
Mr. Yaste was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, No. 107 and Eastern Star No. 439. He was a veteran of World War I, having served overseas with the 90th Division and was a member of the American Legion.
He had been employed by Central L. & M. Supply Company for forty years.
Survivors with the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Jean Yenne, San Antonio,Texas; two grandchildren Mark Yenne and Mrs. Yenina Minger of Southport and one great-grandson. Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Ethel) Brownlee, Miss Ruby Yaste and Mrs. Paul (Ruth) McClain all of Franklin….Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
