Dr. Christopher C. McCue, 2759 Goodells Road, Goodells, St. Clair County's oldest practicing physician, died Sunday, March, 25, 1956 in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lawrence C. Walker, Saginaw after a long illness. Dr. McCue was 87.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Hubert V. Lucas funeral home. Rev. R. E. Bachus, pastor of Chelsea Methodist church, Chelsea, will officiate. The remains will be cremated in White Chapel memorial, Birmingham.

Dr. McCue is survived by a son, Lewis W. McCue, Goodells; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest F. Weeks, Newark, N.J., and Mrs. Walker, Saginaw; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was a member of the American Medical Association; the Michigan State Medical Society, and the St. Clair County medical Society. In 1947 the County society honored Dr. McCue and four other County Physicians who had practiced her 50 years. He was active for many years in the three organizations and visited frequently at the Mayo Brothers clinic and other well known medical clinics throughout the country.

He was a constant reader on a variety of subjects, not only those pertaining to his profession but on other branches of science. He accumulated a large private library and wrote and collected poetry and discourses on scientific, political and economic topics.

Dr. McCue was born Jan 23, 1869 in Ingersoll, Ont. His grandfather, Charles McCue, died in 1870 at the age of 114. Dr. McCue's parents were the late Edward and Margaret Ellen Lindsay McCue.

Dr. McCue graduated April 12, 1890, with first class honors from the University of Toronto Medical College. he received M.D., C.M. and F.T.M.C. degrees and specialized in diseases of the eye, ear, nose and throat at McGill University, Montreal.

he practices his specialty in Kansas City, MO., during 1890 and came to Goodells in January, 1891, where he remained until his death.

He became a United States citizen in 1896.

He and Miss Joanna Lewis were married June 3, 1891 in Toronto. Mrs. McCue died in May 1950. The couple had three sons and two daughters.

One son, Donald Hector McCue, died in infancy. Another son, Dr. Chrystal C McCue, associated with his father in a private hospital in Goodells, died in 1949.

Miss Jean Ellen McCue, the eldest daughter, is a graduate of Michigan State Normal College, Ypsilanti. She taught school before her marriage to Mr. Weeks.

The youngest daughter, Miss Lucille Evelyn McCue, a home economics graduate of Michigan State University, is now Mrs. Lawrence C. Walker, Saginaw.

When Dr. Chrystal C McCue was graduated from medical school he joined his father in the operation of a private hospital in Goodells.
