Gail grew up in Ider, AL graduating form Ider High School in 1967. She went to Jasksonville State University and then graduated from University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. She taught school as a PE teacher for several years before moving to Huntsville, AL in 1977. She was employed by the US Army Civil Service/NAF for 34 years working at the Outdoor Rec. Center and was currently the Manager of the Recreation Center and the Leisure and Travel Ticket manager at Redstone Arsenal. She was a member of Grace Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Meridianville, AL.
