Fred J. Montgomery, 76, Cadiz, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at his home of natural causes.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at King's Funeral Home in Cadiz with the Revs. Paul Cannon, Damian Phillips and Tony Evans officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

A native of Syracuse, NY, he was born July 7, 1938, the son of the late Niles and Wilhelmina Webber Montgomery.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Michelle Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife, Myra Montgomery, Cadiz; his son, Bob (Sherri) Montgomery, Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; his daughters, Mrs. Greg (Kelly) Stanhope, Florence, Ala.; Lisa Boren, Cadiz and Mrs. Troy (LeAnn) Adcock, West Chester, Ohio; his sisters, Mrs. James (Judy) Haddock, Florence and Patricia Hagan, Lancaster; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Montgomery was a member of Canton Baptist Church where he served as sound director. He was a Retired Electrical Contractor and Former Owner of Holland Electric Co. in Hopkinsville, KY. He graduated from Central High School in Florence, AL in 1956 and attended Florence State University. A US Army Veteran. He served his Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC and Military Police School at Fort Gordon, GA. He sang Base in the Singing Witnesses Quartet.
