Fred E. Rizk, 94, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, in Sioux City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Timothy Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present, will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, and a vigil service at 7 p.m., all at the funeral home.
Fred Rizk was born May 4, 1908 in Sioux City, the son of Elias and Jameley (Joseph) Rizk.
He married Amelia "Babe" Perasso on June 15, 1936 in Sioux City. Mrs. Rizk died Dec. 8, 1988 in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Rizk was a lifelong Sioux City resident. He was president of Interstate Oil Company for many years and then went into the real estate business. He did several residential and commercial developments in Sioux City.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, a charter member of Garrigan Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, a member of the Sioux City Country Club and the Little Yellow Dog.
Survivors include two brothers, Dr. Elmer Rizk and Joseph Rizk and his wife, Jo, all of Sioux City; three sisters, Rose De Grasse, Frieda Sullivan, both of Sioux City and Josephine Studebaker of Boulder, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials in Mr. Rizk's name may be directed to St. Michael Catholic Church.
