Vera McGrew, 71, of Columbus, Miss. passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at her residence.
Visitation was Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, Miss. Funeral Services are today, Sunday July 15, 2012, at 2 :P. M.in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, Miss. with the Rev. James Gardner officiating and Bro. Kenny Gardner assisting. Interment will follow in the Living Faith Tabernacle Church Cemetery, Columbus, Miss. with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. McGrew was born Jan. 16, 1941 in Pheba, Miss. to the late Samuel O'Neal and Mae Selena Terry Brooks. She was a residence of Lowndes County, for over 40 years. Mrs. McGrew attended Living Faith Tabernacle Church, and was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition of her parents, she was preceed in death by her husband of 40 years, Kenneth Ray McGrew; son Kenneth Demetris McGrew; four sisters, and five brothers. Mrs. McGrew is survived by six children; Jackie Lynn (Mike) Flasians, Steens, Ms. Cleo Pearl McCullough, of Columbus, Ms. Lotilta Ann (Kevin) Smith, of Canton, Mississippi. Paulette Gail (Jimmy) Swedenburg, of Columbus, Mississippi. Nakita Jo (Jerry) Simons, of Columbus, Miss. Simeon Daray (Nikki) McGrew, of Columbus, Miss.! two brothers, Felix Joseph and Billy Gene Brooks. Fourteen grandchildren, Matthew Baker, Lacy Baker, Tony McCullough, April Schurell, Cecilia Adams, Randy Adams Jr., Malene Barksdale, J. J. Swedenburg, Tiffiane McCool, Ashley Vail, Devin Vail, Madison McGrew, Peyton McGrew, and Dakota McGrew. 11 Great Grandchildren; Jason Keefer, Amber Schrell, Myra Schrell, Zara Schrell, Ryan Eynick, Landon Keating, Jessie Whitaker, Riley Vail, Eric Vail, Chloe McCool, and Evan Berry.
