Peter was the son of Giacomo and Antonia Pedercini, and a resident of Reno for about a year. He worked odd jobs as a laborer throughout the Washoe Valley area.

He married Miss Josephine Martin on June 26, 1904, in Nevada County, California. The marriage was plagued with problems from the beginning; the couple lost two infant children before having a surviving son in 1906, and they fought often.

In March of 1909, Josephine, then about 18 years old, made the decision to divorce Peter and move back in with her parents at Verdi. She had been staying with them for several days while she sought the proper paperwork.

Peter came home to his house in Reno about 5 o'clock in the afternoon on March 22, having been informed of the divorce earlier that day. He spoke briefly with a neighbor girl before retiring to bed and shooting himself at 5:30. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was survived by his wife and son, a brother, Frank, and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Pelizzari and Mrs. Dorothea Tortorollo.Reno Evening Gazette, 3/26/1909, p. 7:

Funeral of Pedercini.

The funeral of the late Peter Pedercini, who shot himself at his home on Vine street last Monday night, as the result of domestic difficulties, took place yesterday afternoon from the parlors of Perkins-Gulling Company. There was a large attendance of the numbers of the Italian colony present. Interment was in Hill Side cemetery.

Note: A second memorial for Mr. Pedercini has been posted to Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery in Reno. I have requested verification that the party posting him as buried there has verified by Church records that he was buried in that cemetery over Hillside cemetery. If Church records of his burial are not available, it is not possible to place him other than at Hillside unless there is a grave marker at Our Mother.

9/30/2016: Here is a reply from Contributor Alexandra Montgomery regarding her memorial placing Pedercini at Our Mother of Sorrows:

"Our Mother of Sorrows has Peter in their records in the Old St. Thomas Section, meaning he was originally buried in the old St. Thomas cemetery and moved to Our Mother of Sorrows when St. Thomas closed. Maybe he was originally intended for Hillside, and the family changed their plans at the last minute?"
