Born in Kezmarok, Slovakia. One of 11 children. Actually born in 1915, but after WW II, her brother Isidor, wanted her to appear "younger" and altered her birth certificate to read 1919. She survived more that 3 years in Auschwitz concentration camp, together with her younger sister Alzabeta (Esta). An even younger sister, Alice (Leah) died in the camp. Post WW II, she worked in the garment and millinery industries.

Her parents, Leopold and Gizella (nee Goldman) Goldstein, younger brother, Josef, sister Ruth, and married sister Helen Englehardt, were all transported to Majdanek, Poland, where they also perished in the Holocaust.

Another sister was Edith "Rechi", married to Kurt Strebinger, they too perished. She was first taken to Theresienstadt and then to Lublin, Poland.

Older sister Roze, brothers Henri (Chaim), Arpad, and Isidor (Sruli) survived.
