Lodian For 77 Years, Mrs. Wilkinson Dies
Mrs. Hazel Wilkinson, daughter of an early day Lodi family and wife of the late Lauren Wilkinson, a prominent Lodi civic leader, died yesterday morning in a Palo Alto hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Wilkinson, 77, who resided at 901 W. Locust St., came to Lodi as an infant with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George LeMoin, from Amador County in 1893. Her father owned and operated the first Hotel Lodi located on the corner of Sacramento and Pine Sts.
She attended Lodi schools, graduating with the Lodi High class of 1911. Noted for her musical ability, she served as musician for several local organizations.
Mrs. Wilkinson was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a past matron and 50-year member of that organization. She was also active in the Lodi Woman's Club for many years and held membership in numerous other organizations, among them the Lodi Travel Club and the Camera Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Winifred Welby of Stockton; a sister, Mrs. Bernice Randolph of Lodi; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
