Theodore Borchardt UNDERWOOD -- Theodore Borchardt, 81, Underwood, died Tuesday at his home. His funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. in United Methodist Church, Underwood. Burial will be at Underwood Cemetery.

Mr. Borchardt was born Feb. 21, 1902, at Oldham, SD. to Julius and Anna Borchardt. He was reared at Underwood and attended motor repair schools in Whapeton and Chicago. He married Emma Schwede June 14, 1928, at Donnybrook. He operated a motor repair shop at Underwood, then moved to Seattle to work in the shipyards from 1942 to 1945. He returned Underwood and worked for the Corp of Engineers as an electrician during construction of Garrison Dam. He moved to Minot and worked at motor repair shop for three years, returning to Underwood in 1969.

Survivors: wife; daughters, Mrs. Walter (Ella) Derheim, Bismarck, Mrs. Torrence (Alice) Stitt Jr., Beloit, WI.,13 grandchildren; eight great - grandchildren; sisters, Arneta Beckstrom in British Columbia, Agnes Goehring, Aitkin, Minn. Visitation will be until 9 tonight at Goetz Funeral Home, Underwood.
