Mabel Cavanaugh, 87, Devils Lake, and formerly of St. Michael, N.D. died Friday, Aug. 20, 1993, in Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Mable Mary Dance Eagle was born June 16, 1906, the daughter of Felix and Rosalie Dance Eagle in Warwick, N.D. where she grew up. She attended school in Fort Totten, N.D., and married Clarence Cavanaugh in 1929 in Minnewaukan, N.D. They lived in St. Michael, where they farmed. Clarence Cavanaugh died in 1978. She moved into Devils Lake 13 years ago.
Survivors are her daughters, Rosalie Baer, Wood Lake N.D., Ida Lovejoy, Tacoma, Wash., Marie Gaking, Edna McCarlin and Amelia Richotte, all of Devils Lake, sons, Ben, Herman "Cap" and William, all of St. Michael; and 49 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters; two sons; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Services: Tuesday in St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael.
Burial: St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
