ALEXANDER PALOMBO, 81, of Ridge Drive, Exeter, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at South County Hospital in Wakefield.

He was the beloved husband for 57 years of Annamaria (Moretti) Palombo. Born in Monticelli, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Maria (Grossi) Palombo.

Mr. Palombo was a machine operator in the manufacturing industry for many years before retiring and was a farmer in Italy before coming to the United States in 1966.

Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Mario Palombo and his wife Carol of East Greenwich and Maria Lawler and her husband David of Exeter; loving grandfather of Hollie Palombo, Alexia Palombo; Jacqueline Lawler, Jessica Lawler and Christopher Lawler; and dear brother of the late Anita Palombo.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bernard's Church, 275 Tower Hill Rd. (Corner of Ten Rod Rd.), North Kingstown at 10 a.m. Entombment will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
