He was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Montpelier to Christian and Margaret
Schlunegger Gerber.
He married Illa Roberts on April 17, 1947 in the Idaho Falls LDS
Temple.
He was an active member of the LDS Church, including Sunday School
superintendent and Bishop's counselor. He was a leader on the regional Boy Scouts committee for five years. He worked as a farmer most of his life, but also worked as a cook and on the railroad.
He is survived by his wife of Montpelier, two sons, Richard of Star Valley and Lynn of Pocatello, one daughter, Linda Gerber of Dubois, Id.; three grandchildren; one brother, Joe of Pocatello; ten sisters, Julia Nye, Montpelier; Gladys Derricott, No. Ogden; Clara Perkins,
Washington; Ruth Julian, Kemmerer, Bernice Wilson, Escalante, Ut.; Irene Swa, Littleton, Co.; Lillian Eschler, Rooseveldt, Ut; Nelda Demaine and Frieda Baird, both of Roy, Ut; and Edna Young, Grace.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Bennington LDS Chapel.
Friends may call Thursday for two hours prior to the services. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
