Racing driver. Born in Broomfield, Essex, Stacey was a talented driver born into a farming family. He was a very fast driver who bravely drove with an artificial lower right leg. This meant that he needed to use a motorcyle-type twistgrip throttle. During the 1960 Belgium GP at Spa-Francorchamps, whilst driving at 140mph along the Masta Straight, Stacey was struck in the face by a bird. He crashed and was fatally thrown from the car.
