Elaine Barber of Beloit age 89, died Wednesday September 11, 2013 in her home surrounded by her two sons. She was born February 28, 1924 to the late Harry and Catherine (Meyer) Van Deuren in New Holstein, WI. Elaine attended Beloit Memorial High School, class of 1942.

She married Donald Barber on August 7, 1946 in Beloit. He preceded her in death in 2008. Elaine was a longtime member of OLA Parish. Don and Elaine owned and operated the Barber Clothing Store for men for many years in downtown Beloit and they were past members at the Country Club of Beloit. She was an avid Packer fan, and enjoyed golfing and visiting casinos.

Most of all, Elaine loved her family and dedicated her life to providing a loving and faith filled environment to her entire family. She is survived by her two sons, Glenn (Valencia) Barber of West Chester, Ohio and Barney (Mary Graceffa) Barber of Franksville, WI; two grandchildren, Adam Barber and Dawn (Troy) Roberts and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Phil (Linda) Van Deuren and her sister Carolyn Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Don, seven sisters and her infant brother.

The family would like to thank Pioneer Court and Beloit Regional Hospice for the care they gave our Mom.

Elaine’s Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 20, 2013 in OUR LADY of the ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit with Fr. Paul Azinze officiating. Friends will be received on Friday at Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Beloit Regional Hospice.
