At the age of eleven years she came with her parents from New York state to Goodland, Indiana, where she resided until her marriage on November 17, 1887 to John A. Irwin. She and her husband first established their residence at Wadena, Indiana, moving to Brook in 1893. Her husband preceded her in death in 1929.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church, the Outing Club and the Ladies Aid.
Surviving, besides two daughters, Cora and Della and a son, Arthur, all of Brook, are a brother, Daniel Lathrop of Brook; a sister, Mrs. Rose Thielman of South Bend, and a number of nieces and nephews.
