PONTOTOC – Bessie Bevill, 85, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at her home in the Buchanan community. She was born July 7, 1920, in Collierville, Tenn., to the late Will and Beulah White Farris. She lived most of her life in the Buchanan community. She was a homemaker and a member of the Buchanan Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hester Carl Bevill, in 2001.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mortimer Funeral Home in Ecru with Bro. Scotty Bland officiating. Burial will be in Buchanan Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, David Bevill of Pontotoc and Jimmy Bevill of Chesapeake, Va.; two daughters, Peggy Lowe of Olive Hurst, Calif., and Carolyn Etheridge of Pontotoc; four brothers, Johnny Cox of Pensacola, Fla., Finley Cox of Olive Branch, Huey Talley of Dalton, Ga., and Thomas Talley of New Mexico; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wells Russell, Bobby Gardner, Tim Sartin, Kreig Sartin, Louis Ball, Larry Cox and Anthony Davis.
