Born and raised in Bethel, N.C., Mrs. Jones graduated from nursing school at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Va., and came to New Jersey to work at Mount Holly Hospital (now Virtua Memorial). She married Herbert Jones in 1941 and became a lifelong Lumberton resident.
The wife of the late Herbert, and the mother of the late Stephen H. Jones, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Herbert W. Jones Jr and Connie, of Lumberton; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Jones of Lumberton; five grandchildren, Christy Blash, Kara VanNorden (Tad), Craig Jones (Gina), Christopher Jones (Angela), and Aaron Jones; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Melba Ruth Jenkins of Robersonville, N.C.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Irving and Irene Jones of Medford; a sister-in-law, Virginia Jones Darlington of Medford; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Christine Smith, Addie Leigh Gale, Edward House, and Josephine Everett. She was a sister-in-law to the late Henrietta Moon, Helen Atkinson, and Wilmer Jones.
Funeral services and interment in Medford Meeting Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
