Funeral services for Helen A. Albert, 76, were held on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 at Sanborn Funeral Home Chapel in Sanborn. Rev. Paul Hansen officiated the service.
Interment took place at Roseland Cemetery in Sanborn.
Helen passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008.
Helen Anne (Erikson) Albert, the daughter of Sylas and Grace (Adams) Erikson, was born on June 10, 1932 at Spencer. She attended Spencer public school and graduated from Spencer High School in 1950.
Helen was married to Dale Albert on Sept. 3, 1950 at the home of Willis and Helen Vander Woude in Sanborn. They were blessed with two children: Randy and Patsy.
Helen and Dale had their first apartment in Sanborn. When Dale entered the Army in the spring, Helen moved to Laurel, Md., that fall to be near him. In 1953, he returned from his deployment in Germany, they returned to Iowa and lived on the Albert family farm between Hartley and Sanborn. They moved into a home in Sanborn in 1978. Helen worked at a bank in Washington, D.C., the Sanborn Savings Bank and part-time for Northern Iowa Telephone Company for a few years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Bob.
Helen is survived by her husband, Dale; children: Randy Albert and wife, Robin of Spencer, and Patsy Schrant and husband, Michael of Bellevue, Neb.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Herb Erickson of Port Richey, Fla.; sister-in-law, Maxine Erikson of Hammond, Ind.; and half-brother, Ted Erickson.
