Born in Drew County on July 4, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Eunie Parnell.
She owned and operated Powers' Café at Watson Chapel. She was reared and educated at Warren. Mrs. Powers was a charter member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the Trio Bowling League for 15 years and was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She enjoyed gardening, golf, hunting and fishing.
Preceding her in death was her husband Clifford Powers whom she married at Warren in 1936, and he died in 1986, and 2 brothers.
Survivors include two sons; a daughter; a brother; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday morning, April 12, 2000, at Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff, conducted by Howard Loetscher and James Paxton.
Burial was in Cypress Memorial Gardens Cemetery Hwy 63 south, by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
