Mrs. Mary Margaret Keller O'Hara, age 94 of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 peacefully at home surrounded by family. Born on August 19, 1919 in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Amos Sr. and Daisy Keller.She was the loving wife of Mr. Allen LaMar O'Harafor 64 years.

Mary was born and raised on the Keller family farm in Middletown and graduated from Middletown High School. After graduating from high school, Mary rode the trolley car to Frederick to work at Kresge's 5 & 10 cent store, and later the Sears, Roebuck Company. While working at Sears, she met Allen LaMar O'Hara, whom she married on November 20, 1949 at the Christ Reformed United Church of Christ in Middletown. Mary also worked part-time at the Montgomery Wards Catalog Store.

Mary was a devoted farm housewife and mother, attending to the needs of her family in addition to the farm. She made an untold number of trips to town for machinery parts and necessary farm supplies. She especially enjoyed weekends when all of the grandchildren visited. Mary was a devoted mother to her sons, Allen and Eddie, but gave special care to her daughter Karen.

Mary was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, now Emmanuel Trinity Lutheran Church, on Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick. Mrs. O'Hara was a 50 - year member of the Carroll Manor Grange, the Frederick County Farm Bureau, and the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Frederick County for the loving care provided to Mary. Special thanks are extended to Rachel, Cathy, Kelly, Steve and Nurse Patty.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. O'Hara is survived by her two sons; Allen and his wife Janice, and Eddie and his wife Kay, and a daughter, Karen, all of Frederick. She is survived by six grandsons; Edward and wife Beth of Frederick, Richard and wife Shimae of Waynesboro, PA, Brian and wife Kimberly of New Canaan, CT, David and wife Erin of Walkersville, Steven and wife Johanna of Holt, MI, and Danny and wife Laura of Palm City, FL,and two granddaughters; Emily O'Hara and fiancé Luke Biegler of Hagerstown, Jennifer Hise and husband Adam of Columbia, MD., and fourteen great-grandchildren; Elizabeth and Ross O'Hara of Charles Town, WV and Sterling O'Hara of New Canaan, CT, Eli and Pearl O'Hara of Frederick, Lucy and Corbin O'Hara of Palm City, FL, Isaac and Eva O'Hara of Walkersville, Rebekah, Everett, and Creighton O'Hara of Holt, MI, and Nathan and Andrew Hise of Columbia, MD. Mrs. O'Hara is also survived by her sister-in-law Geri Keller of Middletown.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. O'Hara was preceded in death by her siblings: Robert 'Bob' Keller and wife Anita of Waynesboro, PA, Richard 'Dick' Keller and wife Pauline 'Polly', Russell 'Rut' Keller and wife Lorraine, Katherine Fink and husband Harold, and Amos 'Buddy' Keller, Jr., all of Middletown, great-grandchildren William and Wallace O'Hara and Titus O'Hara.

Friends will be received on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Keeney & Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.Services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11 AM. Rev. Marina Flores and Rev. Andy Carr will officiate. The interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
