CLOVIS, N.M. - Beulah "Granny'' Clayton, 93, died Monday, Oct. 13, 1997.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in The Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom and the Rev. Billy Hines officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Muffley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Clayton was born in Texas and moved to New Mexico when she was 1 year old. She had been a longtime resident of the Curry and Roosevelt counties areas. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Portales.

She married Cecil Clayton in 1922 at Farwell, Texas. He died in 1992. She also was preceded in death by a son, Alvin Clayton, in 1995.

Survivors include a son, Norman A. Clayton of Cherokee Village, Ark.; three daughters, Avice Pulliam and Anita Simmons, both of Springdale, Ark., and Alice "Susie'' Hatley of Clovis; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
