George Fox died at the home of his son, Samuel, early Monday morning. He was in his eighty-eighth year, and had been a resident of Washington for more than sixty years. Mrs. Fox died last February and the couple had been married sixty-five years at the time of her death. The death of his companion of so many years was a severe blow to the aged man, and he failed rapidly. Death was the result of a paralytic stroke. He is survived by eight children: Wilson of Oxford, George of Martin's Creek; Mrs. Margaret Winters of Cranberry Lake; Mrs. Jacob Davis of Cortlandt, N.Y., and Mrs. Jackson Davis, Samuel, John, and Ellis Fox of Washington. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Samuel Davis of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Mary Chatfield of Rochester, Michigan; also one brother, Joseph Fox, of Bay City, Michigan. There are also 44 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon with interment in Washington cemetery.
