Hulda Steele Cox, age 90, of Bluff City, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at her residence.
She was born April 22, 1925 in Lexington Co., SC, a daughter of the late Luther Mose and Alma Ballington Steele. Mrs.
Cox lived most of her life in the Bluff City area. She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church, Weaver Pike Bristol, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Joe Melvin "Junior" Cox, Jr.; three sons, Robert Dale Cox, Calvin Wade Cox and Michael William Cox; grandson, Troy Dale Cox; brothers, Bryan Steele, L.M. Steele and Gerald Steele; sisters, Cecyle Weible, Christine Singley and Jean Shoemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Melvin Cox, III and Dwight Wayne Cox; daughters, Nancy Carrier and husband Earnie, Alma Vance and husband Doug, Patricia Smith and husband Joe; eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great granddaughters; daughters-in-law, Shirley Jenkins Cox Long, Angie Cardwell Cox and Catherine Griffin Cox Smith; sister, Barbara Steele Norris; sister-in-law, Mary Burkett Steele; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she truly loved.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 5 pm at Faith Lutheran Church, 2909 Weaver Pike, Bristol, TN, with Chaplain Mark Morgan officiating.
Interment will follow at Vanover Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Jeff Steele, Glen Steele, Barry Steele, Doug Cox, Roger Cox and Gerald Smith.
