Mr. Byron had been a resident of Keystone and Rapid City, SD since 1928, where he was extensively interested in mining operations. He was one of the principal owners of the Holy Terror Mining Company whose mines are located within sight of the Mt. Rushmore Memorial in the Black Hills, SC.
Mr. Byron formerly lived in Hagerstown where he succeeded to his father’s extensive interest in the W.D. Byron and Sons and the Hagerstown Shoe and Legging Company. He was a former director of the Herald-mail Co. During the World War he enlisted in and served with the Tank Corps of the U.S. Army.
In 1929 he was married to Miss Julia Lane Keedy, of Hagerstown, who survives him. Besides his wife, surviving are two young sons, Lewis T. III, and Julian Keedy; his mother, Mrs. Lewis T. Byron, Sr., and sister, Mrs. William Preston Lane, Jr. The late Dudley Page, this city, was a cousin.
