Charles Tip Pope, Jr. 90 of Americus, GA formerly of Albany died August 18, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral services will be Thursday 2 PM at Kimbrell-Stern. The Rev. Danny Loffredo officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
A native of Coffee Co. AL, Mr. Pope has lived in Albany where he was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Owner of Pope Burial Vault Company for many years. Mr. Pope served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of the Blue Lodge #591, 32 degree Mason, past president of the Exchange Club of Albany and past vice-president of the Exchange Club Fair Association. Mr. Pope has lived in Americus for 15 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a resident of Magnolia Manor.
Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Watson Pope.
Survivors include his son, Donald T. Pope and his wife Martha of Lakeland, FL, daughter, Sharon Hoover and her husband Ron of Norcross, GA, and a son David Pope of Macon, GA, four grandchildren, David, Clayton, Sam, and Catherine Pope all of Macon, GA and his sister, Mary Wolfe of Macon, GA
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday at Kimbrell-Stern.
