B of the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. SSgt. Devereaux started his tour of Vietnam on 8-16-1965.
He is the son of Mrs. Roosetta Carney of 6510 South Woodlawn Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, and the husband of Mrs. Edith J. Devereaux of 6237 South Drexel Street, Chicago, and the father of three children, Debra Ann, Reni, and Charie, all at home.
His granddaughter LaToya, says he's buried at Lincoln Cemetery, Cook Co. Ill.
