Buried in Old Saint Paul's before the fire.Principal of New Inn Hall and professor of civil law at Oxford, judge marshal with army in France (1557), joint vicar general of Canterbury; justice of the peace for Brecnock, Carmarthen, Merioneth, Pembroke, along with other Welsh counties, and Monmouth, Hereford, Salop, Gloucester in England, member of the Council in the Marches of Wales by 1579, Master in Chancery; member of the Court of High Commission, and master of requests.

Second son of Thomas Aubrey, MD, of Cantreff, by his wife Agnes, daughter of Thomas Vaughan. Educated at Christ’s College in Brecon, and at Oxford, fellow of All Souls.

Husband of Wilgiford, daughter of John Williams of Taynton, Oxford, by whom he was the father of three sons and six daughters.
