Pearl Hefner
MONTICELLO - Pearl Hefner, 88, 102 Pierce St., died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday at Logansport Memorial Hospital. She had been in the hospital four days and had been a resident of Chase Center for the past two years.
She was born Sept. 3, 1893, in Nebraska, to John and Eurilla Mae Hicks. She was married March 8, 1911, to Ray B. Hefner, who died Aug. 22, 1952.
Surviving are four daughters. Mrs. Madeline Filbert, Naples, Fla., Mrs. Ruth Warren, Rensselaer, Mrs. Maxine Nuss, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Betty Logan, Burnettsville; two sons, Glen, Michigan City, and Robert, Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A son and a daughter preceded her in death.
She was a long time member of the Christian Church, Monticello, and was a teacher in the Cradle Roll department at the church. She also was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association. She had lived in Royal Center and Monticello most of her life.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Christian Church with the Revs. Sam Young and Ed Roark officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the Christian Church.
