Swaburg Pioneer Passes Away
Mrs. Anna Lindquist, pioneer of the Swaburg neighborhood, passed
away at noon, Monday, at an Omaha hospital where she had been
confined for care during the past year, being in an enfeebled
condition due to the infirmities of old age.
The deceased, who was 83 years of age, was born Nov. 22, 1855 in
Dalarne, Sweden, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. P.
Peterson, who homesteaded at Swaburg 70 years ago on the farm on
which the Swan and Ernest Strand families now reside. She was the
widow of Ola Lindquist prominent pioneer resident of Swaburg, their
home being the place now occupied by the Allan Anderson family.
After retiring from the farm, Mr. and Mrs. Lindquist resided for
many years in Uehling, and during later years in Fremont. Since
the death of her husband, Mrs. Lindquist had made her home with
relatives in Omaha.
She is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. Frances Melin, and
family of Howard Lake, Minn. also by one sister, Mrs. Carrie
Chapman, of Omaha, and one brother, John Peterson, of Rosalie.
Funeral services were announced for 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at
the Congregational church at Uehling conducted by the pastor, Mrs.
Derelle E. Barber, with interment in the Baptist cemetery at
Swaburg.
