News item in The Argus of Oct. 24, 1929: DEATH OF CENTENARIAN. Mrs. Ellen Bell, who was aged 103 years, died on Tuesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Williams, of Roslyn street, Middle Brighton. Mrs. Bell, who was a native of of Ireland, had resided in Tylden, near Kyneton, for many years. She had lived in Australia for 75 years.
