Funeral Mass for Albert Duppong, 82, of Glen Ullin will be 10:00 a.m. CDT Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, ND with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., CDT Friday, September 5, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Rosary and Vigil Service taking place at 7:00 p.m.

Albert passed away, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck.

Albert was born March 28, 1932, the son of Anton and Anna (Wert) Duppong. He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1950. Albert married Charleen Reeff on September 30, 1952. Albert was an entrepreneur and a visionary who loved the community. He farmed on his father’s farm, raising wheat and registered cattle which his son Terry farms today. Albert felt the need for a fine healthcare facility and saw his dream become a reality when Marion Manor Nursing Home opened its doors in May of 1969, today known as Marion Manor Healthcare Center. He proudly served as the board president of Marion Manor since its inception. Albert and his sons started Duppong’s Inc. in 1979, a farm implement dealership, which Tim and Albert’s grandson Tom own today.

Albert was a member of Morton County Housing Authority, Morton County FHA board, Community Development Corporation, South Central Planning Association, Glen Ullin School Board, Glen Ullin Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus.

Albert is survived by his children, Timothy (Linda) Duppong of Glen Ullin, Joy (Stan) Benson of Bismarck, Jane (Jerome) Boeshans of Beulah, and Terry (Patty) Duppong of Glen Ullin; son-in-law, Rod Auer of Bismarck; sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Brenda) Duppong of Woodland, CA; sisters, Emma Braun of Bismarck, Yvonne Duppong of Yankton, SD, Catherine Fox of Santa Barbara, CA, Theresa Clark of Clovis, CA, Mary Graeme of Jacksonville, FL, Esther (Gerald) Karch of Mandan, ND.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Charleen; daughter, Janet Auer; parents, Anton and Anna Duppong; brothers, Carl and Ed Duppong; sisters, Helen Duppong and Eva Schriado.
