Adolfo Pastor, the 13th of 14 children born to Manuel (died before 1961) and María (1884 - 1969), both Spanish immigrants who had settled in Río Cuarto, in the Cordoba province. His family was well known and respected in their city. Adolfo was saved by his elder brother José (c. 1900 - 1962) from being electrocuted when he was four years old. When he was young, he moved with his brother Vicente (1920/1921 - 1999) to Córdoba City, where he tried to become a lawyer at the Cordoba University, career that he abandoned because of a professor that disapproved him during an exam, he enjoyed partying and the company of women, while Vicente studied intensely to become a dentist. He moved to Buenos Aires in 1950, while his siblings remained in Río Cuarto. It was there that he arrived in the house of his Córdoba friend, Titi Conosciuto, with his wife, Koka, and four children located in Temperley in suburban Buenos Aires. When Titi, who wasn't a family man, left the house in c. 1953, Adolfo fell in love of Koka and cared for her four children, treating them as if they were his. Together they had a daughter after several attempts, Daniela, who was born in October 1961. Adolfo was a very nice, funny and patient man except when talking about politics or football. A conservative peronist and a die-hard fan of River Plate, he often was tactless and prone to exabrupts when discussing those subjects. He worked as an intelligence officer for several years. His fortunes tended to vary greatly because of a gambling addiction that along with several personality differences, made him very frequently at odds with Koka and they tended to engage in verbal shout matches for decades, because they never separated. During the 1980's and early 1990's he was a frequent caretaker of the three children of Titi and Koka's eldest son, Alberto, who, alongside with his brother Daniel, considered Adolfo his father. Adolfo and Koka moved to Cosquin in 1994, returning to Temperley in the summer of 2008-2009. As he got older, his movility became increasingly more limited and after a fall in late July 2014 he seemed to lose his motivation to continue living. Adolfo Pastor passed away of natural causes on 9 September 2014, aged 91, having outlived all but one of his siblings and being the one who lived more years. He was interred at the Lomas de Zamora cemetery, the same cemetery which contains the remains of his old friend Titi.
