Reinaldo Arocha, Jr., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at UMDMJ University Hospital in Newark.

Born and raised in Newark Reinaldo lived in Roselle Park for 17 years. He was a Newark Police Officer for 24 years in the Narcotic Bureau, Emergency Response Unit and Fleet Department. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 12 and past executive board of the Roselle Park Youth Baseball League. He loved to play golf and ride motorcycles.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 17 years, Mayrely Arocha and two loving sons, Raymond and Christian Arocha.

A funeral service was held on Monday, September 22, 2014 in the Evangel Church, 1251 Terrill Road, Scotch Plains, NJ at 10 AM. Mastapeter Funeral Home in Roselle Park handled the arrangements.

NOTE: Newark, NJ Police Department Officer Reinaldo Arocha Jr. went into cardiac arrest around 7:15 AM on September 16, 2014 while working his usual post in the Fourth Precinct. He was rushed to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He had spent his entire 24 year career as an officer with the Newark Police Department.
