Vojtech Janda was born in Libějice 15, Bohemia, the son of Vaclav Janda and Katerina Mika on 20 April 1846 (the date on his gravemarker is incorrect). He married Rose Krejci around 1877 - they had at least two children before she died around 1879. He then married Rose Rejlek on January 27, 1880. Vojtech and Rose had two children in Bohemia before coming to the United States in 1884. They had at least six more children in Chicago. Vojtech worked as a laborer.
