Sources:
* Paul Miller Ruff. "The German Church Records of Western Pennsylvania, Volume IV, 18131-1820". 2nd. Ed,1998. Print.

** Marlin A. Field. "The Klingensmith of Pennsylvania and their Descendants." 1993. Print.

Note 1: There are differing dates listed by various sources as to Abraham's death date. Since no definitive proof has been offered a death date is not listed. However, it seems likely that it was between 1870 and 1880.

Note: 2. Abraham's final resting place hasn't been identified but it is probable that since many of his descendants are buried in the Methodist Cemetery I have chosen to place the memorial here.

Note 3: The 'Kauffer' spelling was an attempt by German speakers to make the name sound more or less like Kifer. Usually the 'au' has an umlaut over it.

Note 4. Marlin Field lists June 16, 1817 as his birth date however, Paul Miller Ruff has the more authoritative source.
