Along with her father, was injured when struck by a Wabash train near Brunswick on May 3, 1914, while in a wagon. Emma died at Woodland hospital in Moberly on June 13. She suffered a compound fracture of both legs and a pulmonary embolism. Her father died of his injuries in Brunswick on July 23. Surviving are her husband, father, 3 sons and 4 daughters.
