Vera Jean Collins, 54 passed away, Tuesday afternoon, September 16, 2014, quietly at her home with family and friends by her side. Jean was a native of Orange Park and grew up in the Marietta area of Jacksonville. She was an employee of Acosta Sales and Marketing where she was a reset specialist at Winn Dixie. Earlier in her life she was baptized at Living Water Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Ms. Collins was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Collins and Mary Louise Collins, her sister, Lounell Martin and is survived by her partner, Beverly Baldwin, four sisters, Patricia Pilgrim, Cathy Waldron, Naomi Downing and Brenda French, several nieces and nephews, a dear friend, Mary Raulerson, her bird, Elvis and her cats. Funeral Services will be held 7:00 PM Thursday evening, September 18, 2014, in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Mr. David Raulerson officiating. Visitation with the family will begin 6:00 PM until services on Thursday. Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.
