Services for Ruben Jones, 82, of 827 Mayfair Drive, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Gundrum Funeral Home. He died at 4:59 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. Born Nov. 16,1919, in Silver Point Tenn. he was the son of Poley and Maggie Maxwell Jones. In 1933, in Baxter, Tenn., he was married to Flossie Smith. On Aug. 3, 1946,in Kokomo, he was married to Athalia G. Reprogle, who died on Jan. 5, 1993. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation, retiring in 1979 after 30 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3790, Logansport Moose Lodge No. 323 and the Eagles Lodge. He also was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Joanetta Jones, Monticello; Leon and Cathy Jones, Baxter, Tenn.; Cifford and Mary Jones, Logansport; and Wes and Nancy Jones, Flora; one stepson, Wayne Erwin and his wife Debbie, Logansport; one stepdaughter Oneta McFatridge and her husband Arthur, Logansport; two daughters and one son-in-law, Catherine Mohler, Logansport; and Geda and Gailon Garling, Mexico; one brother, Vinson Jones, Washington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Three sisters and seven brothers preceded in death. The Rev. Jay Cline will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
