He married Elisabetta Flamminia Madonna on Oct. 27, 1877 at St. Nicola Catholic Church in Taranta Peligna. Together they had 9 children, one of them my grandfather, Pietro James.
He was mayor of Taranta Peligna from 1895 to 1903, and again from 1911 to 1913. By profession, he was a shoemaker, a trade which he taught his sons. The family owned an olive farm in Taranta. He never came to America.
His brother, Dionisio (Dennis) Natale was born in Taranta on Oct. 11, 1869 but emigrated to America on the ship Alesia which sailed from Naples. He arrived in NY on Oct. 21, 1890. By profession, he was a tailor. He remained in NY.
