Roy Leon Akrie, Sr., 76, of Lanexa, VA went home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2014
He was preceded in death by his wife Martha “Bunny” Akrie just nine months ago; his parents Roy and Viola Akrie and four siblings.
Roy leaves to cherish his memory one daughter Wanda Feltus (Jose Solano); four sons Roy III (Sylvia), Jeffrey (Sheila), Michael (Mary) and Todd (Yvonne); one brother Herman Akrie; mother-in-law Marcella Braxton; six sisters-in-law Mary Alice Akrie, Frances Smith (Donald), Rose Williams, Carolyn Crewe, Barbara Taylor and Angela Jones (Dwight); one brother-in-law William Braxton, Sr. (Helen); ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA where friends will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 24th, 2014. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Thursday, September 25th 2014 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Lanexa, VA with Rev. Joseph P. Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
